This article seems biased in favour of some type of open-source use of Apple's copyrighted materials. While it raises legitimate points re: free publicity and the possible effects of a too-aggressive enforcement policy by Apple, it does so in a way that implies Apple should not protect its material. I think the article is just pointing out a development about the subject. Readers might find this information useful for all we know. That's the objective of news writing: to update. Or maybe I'm missing something.

Some critics question this recent move by Apple. With Apple's planned action with regards to its iPhone icons, they wonder what Apple really wants to promote copyright laws or to promote its products.
