Hostaged? edit

Is "Hostaged" even a real word? --Brian McNeil / talk 20:04, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't appear on Webster, but Dictionary.com has it, so I'm not sure. --Resplendent (talk) 20:15, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Talk about a fukked up report. If this is the future of the news biz, then we are in serious trouble. 24.125.242.203

Feel free to improve upon it if you feel so strongly. --Resplendent (talk) 20:15, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do feel free to expound upon it. This is not reporting, and the reason it is not reporting is that nobody was there.

Imagine that! A news report from nobody that was there!

Well, there might have been press reports from FBI and the shipping line. Good PR is good PR Jac roe 20:27, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Who cares. That's not news. Or is it?

I don't care what media is saying. I want to hear what people are saying is news. That's what this site is here for.

So, we should report what people say is news but not what the media is saying is news? How can people know what the news is unless you report it as you hear it or as others pump out press releases? If you don't like what we report, sign up and report the news as you see it. We would love to have you. Jac roe 21:18, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gun battle? edit

Gun battle implies that the pirates shot back. They were killed by sniper fire. Source: Vice Adm Bill Gortney: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/13/somalia.rescue.breakdown/index.html

"The on-scene commander saw that one of the pirates still held that AK-47, was very, very concerned for the captain's life -- and he ordered the shots to be taken," Gortney said Monday.

Even with the small boat "moving up and down a couple of feet," the SEALs hit their targets. "Remarkable marksmanship," Gortney said.
