Official responseEdit

I called QANTAS in regards to the story for the answers however, I am waiting for a official response from public relations. I expect this within the next few days

shouldn't the title read: Australian Airline checks Dell and Apple computers for hazard" ?

"Australian airline screens laptops for recalled batteries" is more descriptive; the particular brands screened aren't particularly important. Pathoschild 20:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
I think an airile checking these two specific brands are more important than the airline's roots in Australia...The title as it is looks fine, and attracts attention to the story. Towsonu2003 21:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, the problem is universal, and this draws people in to learn about one more microcausm of the issue. -- Zanimum 13:12, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

As per the WN:DR discussion I am unsure as to what to add as a warning. Could another admin please fill in. --Skenmy(tcwi) 08:30, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

It needs to be deleted IMO. DragonFire1024 08:31, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
It passed DR, so it needs a warning message that it may be inaccurate or old. --Brian McNeil / talk 08:39, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
It never should have gotton past {{publish}}. DragonFire1024 08:49, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
If the information in the article is correct, then a note can be added saying the source is incorrectly labelled. if any of the info is incorrect, then it needs to be corrected using the {{correction}} notice. not a bad idea to confirm the contents of the Qantas spokesperson interview (assuming it was done by e-mail). –Doldrums(talk) 09:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Symode09 seems to have made claims but has not provide any proof yet.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 09:19, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Can we also remove the link to his blog and list this as a source? FellowWikiNewsie 14:14, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

list of questionsEdit

  1. what is "relatively new" about these safety precautions?
  2. what is the source for "Quantas is expected to release a statement in a few days"?
  3. details about the call to Quantas. who was called - press relations office or customer service? what is "Quantas employee" Sharron role or designation?
