Comments by reviewer: This article would be much better if the focal event was shifted to the people affected, rather than the occurrence of the earthquake itself. Shifting the focal event will make it easier to compose a fuller lede and will make the article more engaging, by focusing on the human aspect of the story, rather than the geological event. An earth quake on its own is not necessarily newsworthy. The damaged caused by it in this case is. For example, if the new focal event for the article is; Vanuatu shaken by powerful quake, emergency response declared, the 5Ws+H framework would provide the following:
Given that the current focal event will be stale in a day, it would also be good (if possible) to refocus on an event that will extend that time before going stale. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |
