Confrontation

Confrontation is a negative concept. You would confront someone with a drug problem or someone with a really bad business plan. When you say Intel confronts Microsoft it implies Intel is angry or dissatisfied with Microsoft over something like Vista or some deal with AMD. Collaborates would be better if the two parties were working together.
