Well, it's all based on the press release. I personally don't consider this original research, but I thought I just read somewhere that articles based on press releases were OR. -- Zanimum 18:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Uh, I don't think so. You can just add source-pr and than it's just based on those sources: OR is something you have done in real life, so that there are facts in the story that can't be checked based on the sources. I'll remove the label.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 11:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
articles based on press releases, other primary documents (not news reports) have been considered as OR. the idea is that our article rests on the source and our understanding and reporting of primary source, unfiltered by any other news reporting. –Doldrums(talk) 11:10, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
But aren't press releases pseudo-reporting? They're (biased, paid) reporting by a third-party company. If it were a company blog the post was based on, based on info from the VP of Marketing, then it seem original reporting-ish. But otherwise... -- Zanimum 17:11, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
To some extent, all sources, PR and newspaper once, are POV, it's our job to remove it. Sources don't have to be reporting: they can be books, websites, ... --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 17:56, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
