The validity of this article as a news story is, as written, disputed. Wikinews does not publish reports on events that are not sufficiently recent. For synthesis, new details must have come to light within the past five to seven days, and the news event itself must have happened within ten days. Unless sources can be found and a news event chosen to bring this article into compliance with those requirements, the article may be deleted. If any new details from the last five to seven days are newsworthy in their own right then an article could be written with these updates as the actual news event. Exceptions are possible where original reporting adds significant new and newsworthy information to the article.

A 1,500 pound scissor lift fell on top of a male contractor in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida outside of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on Monday morning. He was trying to load the lift onto a flatbed truck. He was found at the scene as workers and officers pulled the equipment off him but died shortly after.
He has not been named yet but he is in his fifties and from Martin County. The company he worked for was not at the Kravis Center as police are unsure what company he did work for. His family will be notified and no further information regarding the man is known.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating. Police have informed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the death.
