On Tuesday evening, a protester was tasered and arrested by police at a town hall event in Acworth, Georgia, held by Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican US congresswoman from Georgia. Video showed members of the crowd cheering as the protester was removed from the premises by police.

According to CBS News, the disruptions began only minutes after Greene had entered the building. Several other attendees were removed from the venue, with some of them being detained as well.

Considered by some to be a controversial figure in US politics, Greene was advised against holding town halls by leaders in congress.

Attendees shouted at Greene during the town hall, though she was not approached by any of them during the incident. The congresswoman expressed her belief that the police acted accordingly with their use of force. She also opined that the Democratic party was behind the interruptions to her town hall event, though these claims were uncorroborated. She denounced dissenters as being "brainwashed."
