Summary

Description
English: Caption from previous upload: A page from Tractatus de latitudinibus formarum (1505) edited by Biagio Pelacani da Parma (Blasius of Parma) in Venice, an abridgement of the 14th-century work Tractatus de figuratione potentiarum et mensurarum by Nicholas Oresme (1323-1382). The work was first printed in 1482, and again in 1486, 1505 and 1515. As reprints of this book were still available in the 17th century, it is possible that this work directly influenced René Descartes and the development of the "Cartesian" coordinate system.
