Image: On June 21, 2006, the members of the community in Buffalo, New York surrounding the location of a proposed hotel and members of the "Elmwood Village Gatekeepers," on Elmwood and Forest Avenues planted and dedicated a garden and a "Welcome to The Elmwood Village" sign in an effort to fix some of the "blight" that was visible in front of some of the properties. Their goal is to change the minds of the developers to save and repair/restore the buildings already there.
