"... shorter lives then their wild counterparts", huh? GRAMMAR IS SERIOUS BUSINESS, WIKINEWS! -22:18, 12 December 2008 (UTC)22:18, 12 December 2008 (UTC)22:18, 12 December 2008 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.224.209.50 (talk)

I thought it was common for animals to have shorter lives in zoos then in the wild?--KDP3 (talk) 01:20, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Habitat the problem? edit

It would be interesting to compare the viability of elephants kept in a safari land type park where the animals range freely with various other species over dozens of acres vs. traditional zoo quarters which are cramped by comparison and segregated. In the large parks, elephants are also free to supplement thier diets with living plants rather than subsist soley on an animal feed diet. PerryO206.24.48.1 18:43, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think it's wrong to keep any animals in the zoo... the difference between seeing them in real life and seeing them on TV it's not gonna change our lives much, is it..? I'd rather read about an elephant and see them on TV than going to the Zoo and watch them in their "cages".AlexDuarte (talk) 03:55, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alex, I completely agree. Even if they did live longer, it is still wrong. Would you rather live 60 years in prison or 50 years in happiness? Anonymous101talk 16:04, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
