very sad, but I am amazed that 12 and 13 year old kids are racing high power motorcycles in the US, but on refelection plenty more kids die playing football (soccer), gridiron, hockey etc . Ten

How many children were killed on the gridiron?

Too young?

I am very sad that a 13 year old should die in such a way. It is all very well to say "he was doing what he loved" but that is a spurious argument, since young children (even those aged 16+ think they are invincible, and not aware of dangers. My own son is a year younger, and I think it is the height of irresponsibility to allow young children to follow a sport that is so dependent on machines or other human beings not failing.

Would Peter have been prepared to take the risk if he knew this would happen, and how is the boy who killed him coping with the guilt?
