Who else's fault could it be? Oh sure, President Bush spent his fair share, but Obama spent more in his first eight months than Bush did in eight years. 206.74.5.136 (talk) 15:31, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
That is a lie or at best a repeated pseudo-quote from an uninformed source. Here is an overview of the impact on the deficit of Bush's spending: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_policy_of_the_George_W._Bush_administration#Effect_of_policies_on_federal_budget_deficit_and_national_debt . Summary: Bush's 8 year expenditures increased the national debt by $4.08 trillion, more then 40% of its TOTAL. Here is an overview of the spending completed and prospective spending by Obama: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_United_States_federal_budget#Overview . Key point: "...total annual increase in federal debt will be $2.72 trillion in 2009, declining to $1.37 trillion in 2010 and $925 billion by 2013." So, temporarily more for a project but ultimately on par with Bush's budget in his last year. 66.157.100.245 (talk) 16:43, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Decrease the deficit

edit

Don't increase the deficit. Decrease the deficit by decreasing govt spending. Higher taxes just impoverish everyone. Because, higher taxes destroy private sector investment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.235.123.8 (talk) 12:45, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Who else's fault could it be?? Are you stupid? - The money that we owe right now, the money that's dragging us down... was spent primarily during the Bush administration on the freaking WAR. Some people... I tell you... learn to read and comprehend! Public school didn't do much for me, but at least I learned how to obtain information from words and numbers at an early enough age. 71.117.168.218 (talk) 20:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
