" Michele Bachmann, a Republican congresswoman from Minnesota, stated: "Marriage was created by the hand of God. No man, not even a Supreme Court, can undo what a holy God has instituted. For thousands of years of recorded human history, no society has defended the legal standard of marriage as anything other than between man and woman. Only since 2000 have we seen a redefinition of this foundational unit of society in various nations." "
So I'm really the first person in the English speaking world, and I waited days to post this, to point out that until the catholic church jumped in 500 years ago, marriage was simply an agreement between two people.
Ms. Bachmann is welcome to attempt to get married in a church without a secular marriage license at any time to discover whether or not she has become married just as much as she is welcome to look up the word Bigot in any dictionary.
