This is what happens when you vote the wrong way
editHamas won the 2006 democratic election in Gaza, a lesson in what happens when you vote the wrong way in a free election.Soapy (talk) 19:50, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- The rest of the world contributed to the problem too. There was widespread refusal to recognise those the people of Gaza chose to elect. Whoever is in power there, there will be humanitarian problems. Should you, through inaction, collectively punish the electorate because of those who they saw as best representing their interests? Yes, with Hamas that means "people who believe Israel should be wiped off the map, and are prepared to try and do so in any way they can" - terrorists to use common shorthand. If the global community is not trying to help, then they should be able to say why - and the sort of reasons I would accept are that distribution of aid is being used to cement support for the terrorist viewpoint and convince people it is right.
- A far more mild comparison is my strong objection to how many evangelical groups work with the homeless and extremely poor. There is a price to pay for that aid, being forced to let them try and convert you to their way of thinking. Of course, I question religion's explicitly stated exclusion from the criteria for diagnosing mental illness. --Brian McNeil / talk 20:03, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hey I totally agree with you, I was just pointing out that this was the U.S's "devotion" to democracy. Democracy when the people we want are elected, but a coup or sanctions for anyone we don't want. Soapy (talk) 01:10, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- So you guess accept a terrorist organization then? So you guys have no problem with the BNP in leadership, Nazis or any other hate group?--66.229.23.225 (talk) 08:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Go troll elsewhere Mr Anonymous - you are a feeble troll who hit Godwin's law on the first attempt. When you're dealing with Hamas, or the BNP, or even the Nazis, you're working on the principle "Diplomacy is the art of saying nice doggie until you can find a big enough rock". --Brian McNeil / talk 09:24, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes I'm hitting Godwin's Law and I'm not a troll. Hamas based it self on the Nazis and its main goal to wipe out the Jews from Israel, so good job on being ignorant of facts Brian. If you voted for a terrorist origination that based it self on the Nazis then you get what you deserved. It sickens me that people like you support murders like Hamas.--66.229.23.225 (talk) 18:25, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
