Comments:UN agency condemns new Afghan "Shia family law"
ha their religion sucks!!!
One thing
editNo one wants to admit that in Iraq they have real rights for the women. It's sad Afghanistan expect our troops to die for their freedom when they are acting like the Taliban.--KDP3 (talk) 14:40, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
What did you expect?
editThe new Constitution of Afghanistan (adopted after the Taliban was kicked out) says:
- Article 2 [Religions] (1) The religion of the state of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is the sacred religion of Islam. (2) Followers of other religions are free to exercise their faith and perform their religious rites within the limits of the provisions of law.
- Article 3 [Law and Religion] In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the beliefs and provisions of the sacred religion of Islam.
- Article 54 [Family] (1) Family is a fundamental unit of society and is supported by the state. (2) The state adopts necessary measures to ensure physical and psychological well being of family, especially of child and mother, upbringing of children and the elimination of traditions contrary to the principles of sacred religion of Islam.
- Article 149 [Islam, Fundamental Rights] (1) The provisions of adherence to the fundamentals of the sacred religion of Islam and the regime of the Islamic Republic cannot be amended.
So, as you can see, this is a perfectly constitutional law in Afghanistan. The question - to all countries whose troops are right now in Afghanistan defending this regime - is, why are you willing to pay with the lives of your soldiers (and the money of your taxpayers) to defend this?? 131.107.0.105 23:00, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
