As long as a people are oppressed, some of those people will fight back. This is why Ireland will always be violent. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.53.194.117 (talkcontribs)

Nonsense. This is a criminal act, pure and simple, which advances the cause of no community in Northern Ireland and sets all back. I notice you are posting from an ISP in California, presumably you are one of those Americans descended from people who migrated a century or more ago, who have a romantic fairy-tale idea of Irish nationalism which is totally divorced from real life in either part of Ireland. Get real. -- Arwel (talk) 21:22, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ah, Americans commenting on the goings-on in Northern Ireland. If so many of them hadn't kept funding the IRA throughout the 70s and 80s there would have been a peace process long, long ago.
Most of Northern Ireland has welcomed the improvements in life since the Good Friday Agreement. Loyalist supporters of the Right Reverend Rabid Ian Paisley will now admit that a united Ireland could come through the ballot box. However, the way Europe has evolved means that the Republicans who supported those fighting for it do not see any great victory in such a goal. What would change? They'd have Euro as a currency, and the Loyalists who never gave up their arms would become Ireland's 'terrorist problem'. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:52, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
