This is a case of U.S. forces having bad plans. If Iraqi militants cross into Syria to attack, the Syrian government will kill them; sovereignty must be maintained. Before others come in claiming fluid borders, Syria is very strict about theirs. Hopefully this error in planning will be recognized and corrected by the coalition forces, and those responsible will be punished appropriately. 65.1.171.13 02:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- 65.1 Syria allows the Terrorist too stay in their Nation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.17.181 (talk) 01:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- What is your proof of that? Syria is an Arab nation. It has some conflicts with Israel, and supports justified independence movements, yes, but those are not terrorists in the legitimate sense, and are nowhere near to being the same groups except for misguided fools. If you have real evidence of your claim that does not actually fall under one of those headings, please let me know. 65.1.135.117 04:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- how about the Thousands of foreign Terrorist that are in Iraq? and Independence movement? Since the US liberated (yes i used the L word deal with it) Iraq had a free and fair governess. And Proof, we got and killed a top Terrorist in that raid.--66.229.17.181 05:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Again how does that prove Syria allowed them to stay there? Why not contact the Syrian government, since it also oppose the activity of al-qaeda? I have no problems with what occurred in Iraq with the deposition of Saddam--Syrians fought with the U.S. against him the first time if you can remember that (I don't think you're old enough...). How does ostensibly finding and killing one terrorist among many others mean that Syria supported the criminal? U.S. forces can not be excused from invading Syria, killing several construction workers and guards, and even shooting the wife of a guard in the process. When you find a terrorist in suburban areas in the U.S., does that mean the U.S. sponsors terrorists against itself? The U.S. becomes a terrorist criminal by attacking and killing Syrian civilians. 65.1.135.117 05:43, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Do you think any good will come from calling in the US ambassador! The US govt does not give a damn about the world! There will never be a consequence to this action! My heart goes out to the Syrian families that have been ravaged by the US-Army plague!
If they got the target
editThe operative word is IF. It always sounds good but the US leadership bureaucracy starting at the president on down is such an unwieldy beast it can never seem to react quickly enough to get the assets needed where they are needed when they are needed, or they end up breaking down the wrong door. I just hope the boots on the ground are not blamed if it did go wrong or any of the got injured in all this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.86.238.129 (talk) 12:05, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Why do they still get their citizens support? TROOPS DO NOT WORK FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE USA OR THEIR PROTECTION. Nope, Troops work for your lovely corporations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.213.255.137 (talk) 12:13, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Because were not morons who believe what our enemy's say on their state run media.
- Sure nice idea, but you're still wrong here since Syria is not at war with the United States. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.1.135.117 (talk) 06:48, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

editBelieving a country ran by a dictator and supporting Terrorist that are killing our troops. Is it because you hate Bush that bad or you guys are that retarded? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.17.181 (talk) 21:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC) Are these two Countrys even dictatorships? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.170.192.21 (talk) 12:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
U.S. Reaction
editDo we have any reaction from the US military other than acknowledgement that the investigation is started? Do they confirm the raid itself or deny it? I think it is important, and this needs to be clarified in the article 85.202.113.34 13:18, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
US Helicoptors Attack Farm on Syria-Iraq Border
editWe would learn a number of months later that Vice President Dick Cheney had been given authority by President Bush to use a group of Special Operations troops without consulting other hi level military or diplomatic personnel. As I watched video of the location of the shootings and dead bodies on gurneys from Syrian TV on LINK TV, I immediately suspected Cheney. He had attempted at least twice to precipitate an attack against Iran and been stopped. This attack against a location in Syria just ten days before the presidential elections of 2008 would have been classic Cheney. He would have hoped that the Syrian government would retaliate in some way which would have helped to create a large counter-attack by US forces against the Syrians. This would have brought out every flag waving gullible fool in the US to vote for John McCain in the election. The Syrians were smart enough to realize that they were being baited and didn't retaliate and the story disappeared in about one day in the US. Frank Newman "Aarky" Ft.
