If McDonald's are as community oriented as they try to sell in their tv-advertising, then allow them them the chance to adhere to the voices of the local community. We don't need another McDonald's 24/7. There's one in Mooloolaba and one right north of Alex, only 5 min apart.

  • While the company has every right to hold the hours it chooses, it does have to answer to the laws and policies of the community. If a person were to move to a different town, country, etc they would be expected to follow the rules of that place. Companies, such as McDonalds, should adhere to and respect those same rules. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.185.109.253 (talkcontribs)

Anti-social? edit

I don't understand how anyone can claim that a restaurant is anti-social. It would be the exact opposite since it would bring people together who would be eating there. I don't know my MD wants to put one there since they already have one just 1km away. Business must be good! In any case, if the people don't want it, MD shouldn't force it, otherwise they're going to get into trouble. -Peter —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.213.68.167 (talk) 17:37, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't really understand this either. You'd think people would boycott the place if it was 'anti-social'. Also, I must admit that I don't really understand what they mean by "It's an anti-social establishment". Do gangs sell cocaine in the McDonalds bathrooms or something? McDonalds, they're assholes! I'm gonna have a Barby in my garden to protest!I wouldn't want a warm beer would I?

I believe the anti-social comment refers to gangs of youths and vehicles congregating loudly there in the early hours of the morning when there are no alcohol sources or other social locations open. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.171.131.211 (talkcontribs)

Who is surprised? edit

Welcome to the era of corporate influence, where laws are meaningless, and corporations will sue until finally someone caves and gives them what they want; Rotten Ronnies is no different. Hopefully whatever court the appeal to next will refuse to hear them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.155.24 (talk) 19:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

MCD should certainly follow the wishes of the community. If they already have a 24-hour store a few miles away, how much extra business do they actually stand to gain from extending the hours of another nearby store? It's good to see residents of a town speaking out and objecting to corporate giants. If only we could get people to do that here in America, haha. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.189.141.13 (talkcontribs)
