Given Starbucks' reputation for opening stores across from their own stores I don't think anyone will actually notice a difference.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.110.200.96 (talkcontribs)

It is too bad that the economy is affecting everyone so badly. Starbucks, rather than just making coffee is a partner for the environment, the coffee growers, the community, and the culture there at Starbucks is driven by Social Responsibility. McDonald's and Dunkin can improve their drinks but they could never compete with what Starbucks is to the communities that the stores and the offices are in. I also believe that Mr. Schultz taking a pay cut, not only a pay cut, if he merely worked 40 hours a week and I know he doesn't, it would be around 4 bucks per hour. I was a new store designer for them for a few years out of the Dallas office and realizing what Starbucks actually was has kept me a loyal customer. The truth is, I am saving money and still go to Starbucks, I just cannot keep doing the latte that I love, that is where all the jokes and complaints come from about $$, I buy coffee and I do not spend more than I would at the other two places mentioned earlier.
