I do not know if the fact that there is a majority of muslims in the area is worth pointing out without hinting towards the develop the west campaign or XPCC. The fact is that they are not really predominant in the region, using the word correctly. A majority is still true and it might be important to be more accurate about this issue and just mention that the han shinese migration into the area might be a motive for the terrorists.

excuse my english, it is not my native tongue.

There is no excuse to justify any form of terrorist attack

edit

Personally, I think there is no excuse or reason to justify this barbaric attack on local police force. Those who were behind this attack will be brought to justice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.181.51.91 (talk) 00:58, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

naturally an explanation is not a justification. Background to any conflict is important this one in particular since most people are not as aware of the state of Xinjiang province as the tibetan allthough I do not imply that the situation is in it's entirety all the same. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.70.144.130 (talk) 04:51, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Misleading title

From Bloomberg, quote "Xinhua's English-language report said police suspected the assault was a terrorist attack, although the agency's Chinese-language report, which was released two hours later, described the incident as a violent crime." So what was it suspected terrorist attack or violent crime, Wikinews should really be more careful when it comes to Chinese government sources, especially as here there is no independent news coverage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.116.244.202 (talk) 22:32, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
