Through the market or not? Fephisto 15:17, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

They didn´t go into detail as how the cuts are to be achieved (as that is not there expertise, in my understanding the signatories are mostly climate scientists). I reckon they would support market mechanisms (cap and trade in particular), as thats the only real option being talked about. However it was pretty clear that they wanted to keep their statement clear and easily digestable, so they stuck to what they saw as central: major cuts in GHG emissions need to be made. o wait we are! FFS (middle F is frick btw as wiki has a no swearing policy), these guys know what theyre talknig about maybe somebody (read AMERICA) should listen to them, while companies can lie, evidence (what scientists talk in) cant! It can be skewed, exaggerate and taken out of context but the basic facts are clear to anybody with a high school education (well with an interest in science anyway). light -> earth -> heat -> co2 -> heat -> earth -> etc! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.45.210.78 (talk) 18:52, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I asked America what they thought about the statement just an hour later, but of course they couldn´t answer as they hadn´t had any time to review the declaration yet: http://172.17.17.203/ramgen/unfccc/2007/pc/unfccc071206pc7-orig.rm (about 19 minutes in). I might try to follow up on that though :) Sean Heron 03:45, 7 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
