Using the media to terrorize us? How low can you get?

From CNN.com 2001

["I would like to assure the world that I did not plan the recent attacks, which seems to have been planned by people for personal reasons," bin Laden's statement said.

"I have been living in the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan and following its leaders' rules. The current leader does not allow me to exercise such operations," bin Laden said. ]

For some reason, the general consensus is that bin Laden confessed to 9/11. Someone lied to those people. please pay attention, everyone

Just in time edit

how long is it until the next US election? Its funny how now that people realise that the government response to Katrina was terrible and that even after 9/11 a large number of terrible mistakes were made. And some idiots decide to give Israel more weapons (why is it that the middle east hates America again...). But here comes the jaberwoky to scare you all into voting republican and losing all your civil liberties.

Again edit

This happened last year, I think. It's probably just propoganda but it's still scary. FellowWiki Newsie 16:27, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article says that the Homeland Security Adviser for the White House said: "Obviously, it's a huge priority for us to capture and kill bin Laden and bring ...[him]... to justice." Capture and Kill? Did he really say that? Should that not be 'capture and put to trial' or are they just going to handcuff him and execute him? Matt Duffy London, UK

I agree. Very good point. FellowWiki Newsie 18:56, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't think he even needs a trial. He has to be one of the most evil people on this place we call Earth. Eric Wester 22:25, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
If I am not mistaken, he was already tried and convicted somehow. MessedRocker (talk) 22:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Whatever those people say gets spread across the media in short order. This will be proof that all you need are words to terrorize. Contralya 03:09, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

It really shows that the US has not come very far, when our nations "Top Priority" is to kill another human being.

It is ridiculous to think that ANY killing is a crime against humanity. Thousands of people die every day in the world from disease, age, etc. And there is also the issue of overpopulation... Death isn't such a bad thing that one death is evil, especially when the person who dies is pure evil, like Hitler, or Stalin, or Osama. To think death is so horrible is to be seriously ignorant. I bet you think that there is no such thing as evil too... Contralya 20:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

People dieing is not the same as people getting killed. FellowWiki Newsie 20:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but still, some times a few people are responsible for the murders of thousands, and the fear and oppression of even more; certain people like Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin, Hitler etc are examples, though they did leave a big impression on history. I think that if this guy isn't captured or killed in the next few years, that weather or not operations in Iraq are successful, there will be a great many deaths and many more people wounded, in fear, or oppressed. Though I do think that capture is preferable to having a Martyr. Contralya 06:23, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Two things: Bin Laden is very sick and requires 24/7 observation and special medical equipment at times. Two: A human can only live so long...and in his condition, he will not last much longer and even if healthy, has little time left too. Regardless of his existence or not, terrorists are terrorists and they will exist for an undetermined amount of time long after bin Laden. Oh, yea, I forgot about that (partialy due to his beard being dyed black, lol), thanks for the reminder! Yes, I know that getting him won't stop the terrorists, but having him in a prison cell would certainly be a heavy blow. And besides, you would be surprised how long people can live (look at Castro), I knew someone diagnosed with Nemonya (however you spell it) and lived about eight years after he was supposed to die. I admit, I over-reacted about what he would do in the coming years, his damage to the world is mostly already in motion and will go on without him. I get oppressive dictators/leaders mixed up some times, they are so similar. And by the way, by failure in Iraq, I also meant if whoever is elected in 08 pulls out before the job is done and things fall apart. Contralya 07:54, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hair colour change edit

FOX News just reported that bin Laden used "Just for Men" on his beard. They said it gave his beard a nicer updated look. So, did he use Just for Men? Or did he use Just for Terrorists? (It was getting pretty grey anyways.) Lol. FellowWiki Newsie 19:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
