I don't spend a lot of time reading sensational stories of this type. How many murders occur by men _not_ wearing Santa suits?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.174.227.139 (talkcontribs)

Let's stop referring to "high octane racing fuel" instead of "gasoline". All racing fuel is high octane but even more importantly, the octane rating of a fuel is only meaningful inside of an internal combustion engine. This was gasoline. Pure and simple. The high-octane rating of a fuel inside a combustion chamber will SLOW down the combustion (see the wikipedia article on octane ratings) but spread about a house, it will not burn meaningfully slower than "low octane" gasoline. Just call it gasoline which is what it is.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.110.10.212 (talkcontribs)

It may not make a difference, but it would be shameful journalism not to report all the facts as they are. It makes no difference that it was the right wing of Chalk's Ocean Airways Flight 101 that sheared off due to metal fatigue in that the end result would be the same for the left wing, but nonetheless it should be noted that it was the right. Guys, words are the tools of your profession, right? Why do you insist on using the imbecilic words "high octane racing fuel" when that's the same damn thing as "gasoline". I mean, I guess it makes your story sound exotic or something, when it's not. By why embellish the story with such lies. All racing fuel is high octane. And, the higher the octane, the slower it burns. That's why it's used in high compression racing engines dummy. But, the octane rating of a fuel has absolutely nothing to do with how it acts outside an internal combustine engine. The fact that you don't know that yet you insist on using those idiotic words tells me you've done absolutely no research and don't even know what it is you are writing. I must discount everything you say based on your idiocy. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.110.6.57 (talkcontribs)

I am tempted to simply block you for personal attacks, but I will turn a blind eye to them this time. It doesn't sound any more exotic to me, and while it behaives basically the same as 'ordinary' gasoline, it isn't. Also, the article makes no comment on what the octane rating does, so please stop acting like it says it speeds combustion up. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 01:38, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
