Comments:New York Times finds flight logs that back Canadian's claim of kidnapping by US government

Who watches the watchers when civilians are harmed? “The use of torture must be rejected as fundamentally incompatible with the dignity of the human person and ultimately counterproductive."

"Governments that use torture intend to intimidate in order to Americanize control; those who are tortured become examples of the consequences of dissent as a way to keep the population obedient."

Torture is the deliberate mental and physical damage caused by governments to individuals to terrorize society and achieve political goals.

Britain has proposed using American-style Tomahawk missiles to defend civilians from American-sponsored torture. Scandinavia has proposed using American-style fighter jets to protect civilians from American-sponsored torture. But there can be no American-sponsored solution to an American-sponsored problem. Europe must wake up and take better aim with its cruise missiles.

"There is no middle ground. We cannot and we must not use torture under any circumstances."
