A blockade will just intensify things. That is what caused these recent problems. The proper response is to enforce the two state solution and make two independent nations one of Israel and one of Palestine so that neither has excessive control of the other, and each negotiate independent relations with their neighbors, backed up by U.N. peacekeepers. 72.154.55.98 02:51, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Also the Jewish resistance in the ghetto did not have the capabilities to attack the German civilians, circumstances have changed now and poor and oppressed people are now capable of making homemade rockets. 35 years ago when this occupation began Palestinian resistance was limited to the resistance of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto, all they could do was maybe throw a molotov cocktail or shoot an israeli soldier if they were lucky...so I think that yes it is fair to compare the occupied territories to the Warsaw ghetto, although obviously not to the much worse inhuman crime of the concentration camps. Geneva convention violation?

Is it just me, or was this a violation of the Geneva convention?

Specifically CCW Protocol III, Article 2, paragraph 2:

"It is prohibited in all circumstances to make any military objective located within a concentration of civilians the object of attack by air-delivered incendiary weapons."

Since the hq of the UNWRA and a (civilian) hospital each constitute a 'concentration of civilians', even if they did attack it because Hamas soldiers were using it as an artillery position, it was a violation to use incendiaries.

Or did I miss something (also, how the feck do you figure burning a hospital with a chemical agent as 'defending oneself' 66.240.8.178? Maybe you'd like to claim some 5 year old Palestinian girl with the measles was gonna cough on IDF personnel as some form of homebrew biological warfare?)
