They were U.S. Marines that raised the flag, not soldiers. While it may not be a big difference to the general public, it is a big diference to us. —173.11.54.109 (talk) 14:22, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Lets' see ! The "truth" doesn't matter anymore. The Japs ( Japanese, sorry PC folks) attacked "us", we should call it (the Island) by the name that we relate to. To the "bleeding hearts", the Japs have "no" say, as our people died because we were attacked. The same principle applies to Juan Williams. He spoke "The Truth" and it got him fired. I'm retired so you can't fire me as I feel the same way he does. Grow a back bone America and quit this PC nonsense. ps. to their defense, the Japanese did put on uniforms, so we could see who we were fighting. This is in contrast to the cowards we are fighting in the middle east, who dress like the general population so they can "blend in". —12.213.80.54 (talk) 15:30, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

I do not agree with the changing of the name of such important event to all parties concerned So why do they go ahead and do it. I am sure that all of us that took part and studied about that happenings with agree with me. That we cannot accept the change of name and will contine to go on calling it as before. Remember, people never forget. —70.107.228.233 (talk) 16:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
