Comments:Iran tries to launch satellite with Safir carrier rocket

US lieing about their satelite recon of the launch and Iran did launch the satelite?

US using laser weaponry to disable the missile during the launch - just like North Koreas rockets.

Or maybe Iran - a country with an excelent academic record - can't put a rocket into orbit.

It's very difficult to put a rocket into orbit. Just look at SpaceX, a company with a policy of hiring only "the best" aerospace engineers available. They've tried - I think - three times now to achieve orbit and have failed each time. Even with ample amounts of government support as I imagine is the case with the Iranian rockets it doesn't surprise me one bit if their first true orbital test was not a success. --72.188.51.197 16:10, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I was shooting the breeze :) In this age of constant surveilance every failure by Iran will be jumped on by the media. Who knows how many times the US and the USSR failed to launch vehicles before the media were informed of success? If the world (and by the world, I mean the US) let them - Iran will get into space. 194.75.128.200 09:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
