-It is absurd that some people in the 21st century are trying to save an industry based on the sole premise of scientific and technological stagnation. This was going to happen one day or another, the cobustion engine automobile is a century old invention that remained the most popular way of transportation for longer than necessary. Now the automobile market will either "stabilize" as vice president Jim Press said, or it will go worse, but in both cases improvement is more than necessary, and the sales will never rise as high as they used to be. Unfortunately, the only thing that this current crisis is proving is that we cannot exploit the natural resources to create goods that are intended to be replaced, for the only pupose to get money out of the process. Which is what has been happening for a couple of decades now. As a race, we have to reorient our industries into creating wealth in a different way. We have to use our knowledge not to be more powerful or more rich, but to be all equal in the best way possible. By that I mean that the more scientifically advanced nations of this planet ought to reorient their economy and development on making this world a good place to live for everyone, by helping the less advanced ones by stimulating their education system, which in a couple of generations will pay of way more than the current exploitation we all depend on. It is only when all of us will feel bound as we really are right now due to our fate on this planet, that we will begin to exploit our potential. Right now, we are almost all in a panic mode, due to the lack of job, and due to the need we have to feed ourselves. Therefore we seek any and all possible way of getting money. This is a stressful condition which nobody that considers himself as being part of a civilised world should have to face. We should not work to survive, we sould work to develop ourselves, and make use of the brain we have, use our imagination to understand the world, and then enjoy it with the others. It is this fake impression that we are in a race against time, that makes us so stupid and narrow minded. So yes, the sales have dropped 45%, which in the marketting world is considered as a bad sign, but in reality, it is just a sign that demonstrates that this dream that certain wealthier persons had the opportunity to live, is only a dream. We have all sufered from this, and I simply hope that this crisis will help us all to be more conscious of who we are and what is the human life really worth. The progress of the entire humaninty should not be stopped or slowed down only to provide an advantage to some, because a day may come where our success will be based on our capacity to help each other the best way we can. There is no reason to compete against each other, our only common enemy is our own ignorance and fear, which cannot be bought with money. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs)

Hey, this is capitalism. Like in a casino, you win and you lose... What did they expect? -Alemaco (talk) 03:38, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

it's about time they wrapped up !!!

Eh, I feel bad that they have been developing cars while Chinese companies, which just ignore patents, disregard intellectual property and blatantly copy models will probably fill the void of sales some time in the future. -- 15:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
