Filipino activist arrested for disrupting Manila Cathedral mass in Reproductive Health Bill protest

The Catholic church in the Philippines has intervened in various political issues in the country since the very beginning of the country's creation. They take a very medieval attitude towards issues that concern family, and especially women in general. Reproductive Health is certainly a major issue that needs to be tackled by the Philippine Government because many women in the Philippines are suffering from abuse and lack of education on reproductive health. I think the church have overstepped their boundaries in this regard. Everyone in the Philippines is aware that there is a massive population boom problem, amongst the poor. Beggars in the streets - young mothers carrying babies or followed by a number of younger children sniffing glue? This is just one of the many problems brought about due to the lack of education - sex education, reproductive health education, women's rights. The country is crying out for this and due to the "medieval" outlook of the catholic church, the country is massively held back.
