The article comments about the Syrian government being 'Russian backed', but does not appear to state who is funding and arming the rebels? As with any proxy war it takes two to tango.
Check wikipedia for Saudi Arabian support to Syrian Opposition in the Syrian Civil War and Foreign involvement in the Syrian Civil War. Reading and research required as simple visuals are deceptive on exact involvement and scale.
Understood, but why is this not cross referenced in the Wikinews piece.
