Ravalomanana should go. This is what is meant by democracy. He should not cling to power as if it is his God given right. Majority wants Rajoelina, and what majority wants is democracy.

This story fails to tell past events showing Ravalomanana's tendancy to neglect the populace and indeed his presidential responsibilities in favour of his own interests, particularly those actions that he took against Rajoelina soon before this "coup", namely that he fired Rajoelina from his position as mayor of Antananarivo, the countries capital, which he had won mayorship of by a landslide vote, after Rajoelina accused him of abusing his position and crossing the countries interests with with own, and appointing a new mayor, who had not previously ran for mayorship, without carrying out a poll. He did not come into power adhering to the constitution either, he did not win majority vote for his first term of presidency and refused to negotiate new terms of rulership with other parties, instead putting himslef in the position of president. I do not condone Rajoelina's use of the military but a revolution was needed and it appeared that Ravalomanana was rigging the electoral polls, which puts Rajoelina in a difficult position. The evidence which indicates that Ravalomanana was rigging polls is that after his initial election, he ordered a re-count a few months into office and found a significant increase in the percentage of votes in his favour, if the magnitude of error had been made for the 2nd place opposition, then they would have won the election.
