Climate change is being caused by our sun slowly and progressively increasing its solar output. In 1 billion years the sun's increased energy output will cause our planet's surface to be too hot to support water in its liquid form, and this is well before our sun swells into a red giant and swallows the planet itself in its photosphere.
Actually, that amount is too small to affect the cliate dramatically in a measurable time span. Furthermore, If the Sun were the direct cause of Climate change, There would be no Point in a meeting. 164.116.47.179 (talk) 15:36, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
It's surprising to see so much controversy surrounding climate change, given the years of empirical data and peer review that's gone into the current theory. The Swifthackers' current allegations of `concealed refuting evidence' are only so much anti-science FUD, a Palin-esque demand for truthiness. Anyway, I believe that there's a distinct possibility of COP15's arriving at a global agreement; what will be contained in that agreement, and whether it will be effective in combating climate change, remains to be seen. It's clear that the current US leadership is more open to a serious confrontation of the issue than was the Bush regime. China, too, may be willing to make concessions, and would certainly have to if anything really significant were to be effected. The worst danger is that this conference will simply turn out to be what all previous climate change conferences have been: a great deal of talk with little or no follow-through. With the rapid acceleration of climate change, self-congratulatory cocktail-party summits aren't likely to effect any real change. --Wolfcm (talk) 15:53, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

copenhagen summit is futile edit
dis whole summit is futile cos i don't think it can bring any change to the climate until n unless every people in the world become alert of emitting co2 gas and its consequences.government of every country has to make strong laws against emission of co2 gas.huge and compulsory effective steps have to b taken by each n every country.obviously it will make a great political,economical and religious change in each country.people still burn dry leaves and wasted materials for nothing.these should be cut off.we have to make every single people in the world aware of global warming and its causes.if huge number of plants and tress can be planted and cultivated,den some amount of co2 in atmosphere can be recycled.planting tress is the only way of reducing some of green house gases.use of air conditions except hospitals and research centers should be abolished in every country.we all have to decrease lighting fire for anything.in some religious purposes smoke and fire r used.it also has to b ceased.dose poor people who make their food by burning leaves,woods;for them government has to give some low cost alternative oven or gas.bombarding in battlefield has to b stopped.population growth in every country has to be controlled.more there will be population,more will be pollution.nature made human most intellectual animal for live and let live in better way for other animals,but we r destroying our nature and also us by our over urbanization and over intellectuality.if we have to survive then we have to cut some of our luxurious living.otherwise the earth cannot be saved and we all will be extinct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.194.235.23 (talk) 10:43, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
If we do nothing right now, the Earth is lost. How many forests are burnt down? How many kinds of animals are dying? The Human haves 10 years left to change it before the Earth is lost. Countries will be flooded, people will die, animals are dying. It is so stupid the people have done this to the world. The Ozon will be gone and the poles will melt. This is not good! They most to sign the Copenhagen Treaty, or the world is lost for ever! Let them please sign the treaty! Please! Stop the CO2 gas en make a change! This is about OUR world. Its our fault and we have to stop this right now!
