Comments:Construction on massive radio telescope array to begin in 2012
If governments are funding it, it seems like a gigantic waste of money. Wait until we have technology that will be a 100 times stronger anyways (which I don't think is too far fetched to say that this might happen by 2012), not waste millions with by then outdated technology. - Presumably if construction is starting in 2012, they will use whatever the current technology is then. But if you say that, what's to stop people then saying that they should wait until technology is once more 100 times stronger, and it just becomes one big cycle, and nothing ever gets completed. --81.152.100.246 18:28, 5 October 2007 (UTC).
- I agree that I'm not stating my point very well, but it
s because I'm referring more to the government spending. Spend millions now with what could be done privately for quite a fraction of the cost if we actually waited a bit. It currently gives this sense that it's impossible to do research privately, because of the big costs involved, when that's hardly the case. Fephisto 22:15, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
