Thank you! Excellent article.
Avika Eldar of Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper complained that settlement building during negotiations changes "facts on the ground". He added, "The fact that there was no precedent actually demonstrates why there are now 300,000 settlers living in the West Bank and just 16 years ago when the Oslo Agreement was launched there were 109,000 settlers."
You simply don't see frank and honest comments like this in our U.S. "free press". It's "free" alright, free of real news. Obama and Clinton are no better than the previous office holders. Afraid of Israeli clout here in the U.S. and not willing to look out for U.S. interests where Israel is concerned. The sad state of affairs continues.
Too bad you can't have ads on Wikinews. I would recommend selling The Israel Lobby, U.S. Foreign Policy by Professor Stephen M Walt of Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and Professor John J. Meirsheimer of the University of Chicago. I would also recommend , Attack on the Liberty: The Untold Story of Israel's Deadly 1967 Assault on a U.S. Spy Ship, by a survivor's journalist son, James Scott. both are on Amazon.
- Although I'm glad you enjoyed my article I believe Meirsheimer's theory (admittedly I haven't read his book) that the Jewish lobby controls America to be a little unbelievable. Yes we do lend massive support to Israel, but we do so because it is in our own self-interest to have a foreign ally right next to the largest material treasure that has ever existed.
