I first met Cathal as a young man, when we put on Juno & the Paycock in his "Barn" which he had converted into a theatre in 1997 so the reports of a recent interest in performing arts is innacurate. This show was followed by the Cripple of Inishmaan which toured the country winning awards in many different categories. The next show from the Stacumny players was the jockey club stakes and then the salvage shop. Cathals decidation to the dramatic cause rubbed off on Cillian and Danielle who both tok part, INCLUDING Cathal who acted in the jockey club. This was all amateur but lots of fun and thanks to Cathals personal call, I came back from my honeymoon early to do a show. Lots of monies were raised in tese shows due to Cathals work.
I will certainly miss him and my heart goes out to his family...
