For what it's worth, in 1981 our 3-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old twin sisters climbed Mt. Whitney with us at the conclusion of a 23-day, 100-mile backpacking trip along the John Muir Trail in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. We went up the trail, not the rock-climber's route, however. — (talk) 21:57, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

If you leave your 13yr old unattended at home then you may be called an irresponsible parent. --Timtak (talk) 00:33, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
