Shenanigans! Tens of thousands die every year in just the USA alone from regular flu. Why is this even a major news story?

Source please.--KDP3 (talk) 03:48, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If I recall an earlier story here correctly, it stated 60 deaths with 1000 infected - more than one death in every 20 infected is why this is a major news story. (May I also note that the Spanish Flu, which this is being compared to (in lethality) led to multiple million deaths worldwide...). The open, and very serious, question is whether this outbreak turns into a pandemic. Sean Heron (talk) 17:40, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Who would lisen if World Trade Organization told that 'Citizens are urged to stay away from large crowds, avoid kissing people and stay at least 6 feet (1.8 meters) away from one another.' to avoid social unrest? But you should lisen World Health Organization of a regular infuenza outbrake. Nice. Would you bilive that Mixian heath system able to immidiatly identified few dosen deaths from other infulenza releated deaths ?!

I'm afraid I don't quite understand your question (I can't figure what you're trying to get at with your comparisons either). Sean Heron (talk) 12:48, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
