The appendix may very well be an organ where good bacteria is stored and can be replenished. However, it would seem that for those who are suffering with bowel diseases and an imbalance of infectious bacteria, it might be a source for the bad bacteria as well. This is an area that would have great possibilities to study in terms of future treatment for those with GI Issues.
