I enjoyed the Jurassic Park Movie.

Sad news edit

This is a terrible loss, I was a huge fan of his work, and have every one of his novels. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.199.201.5 (talk) 21:25, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agree. I had plenty of nitpicks with his work (Like all good authors), but his quality was excellent; it's unfortunate we wont be getting anything more from his pen. 68.39.174.238 23:05, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

He will be missed dearly. He's such an amazing writer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.167.193.180 (talk) 00:57, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

R.I.P Michael Crichton, you were one of the best authors in our century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.8.179.125 (talk) 01:51, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Like most authors he had his good novels and some not so good, but his views through his literature that he left us will always be treasured. His inspiration on ideas not brought to light for future generations will never be and this is truly a sad thought. My sympathy to his family, for he was truly one of a kind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.141.171.118 (talk) 22:43, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Terrible day for fiction fans edit

This was a sad day for all of his devoted fans. Michael was a great storyteller, and I was always enthralled by his captivating stories. Jurassic park is a all-time favorite of mine, as well as Prey. I am excited for his posthumous book coming out in May, and my thoughts go out to his family. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.92.146.236 (talk) 00:33, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

comment on michael edit

The death of such a remarkably gifted author makes me sad; not only did Michael Crichton bring science to his work, he also managed to make it entertaining in a way that everyone found accessible. Michael found out a great formula, intellectual interest plus a heathy dose of action and events, that few if any have managed to achieve. Right or wrong his opinions, can anyone deny they were fun? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.139.193.116 (talk) 22:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recycled stories edit

I won't deny that Crichton wrote well, but I don't think he was particularly original. Westworld and Jurassic Park are just simple variants on the Frankenstein story. --Brian McNeil / talk 00:45, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

MC: When Fire and Ice Collide edit

This is truly somber news. He will be sadly missed. Though I occasionally found his writing a little over-dramatic, and unrealistic, the emotions and crazed scenarios were always very well grounded in humanity and factual accuracy. When it came to research, the man was a machine, chipping away at the barriers separating him from the knowledge of how things really work, and how people really act behind closed doors. He was very hands-on in the development of his work, perfecting science and language into works of art. He always, and somewhat incongruously, balanced far-fetched scenarios with an exactitude that was unmatched in the realm of science-fiction. It was this, his personalized brand of controlled insanity that made him one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.48.204 (talk) 04:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Too much fuss over a minor writer. edit

He was a very bad writer with very good ideas for stories that would have been far better if he could have managed to orchestrate them effectively. Too many far greater writers have passed with but a passing blurb at the end of a page or single broadcast, while a minor writer with a series of abysmal, albeit innovative, books gets such notice – I find it disturbing. – Brent Bentley —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.108.144.241 (talk) 10:30, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This was an inside job by the government to silence him. Can't offer additional details, must keep cover intact.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.107.188.5 (talkcontribs)
