Relevance?

Why is this news? Not to specifically target the US, but if nothing particularly extraordinary happened then why is it a headline here? Canada Day was 3 days ago and I didn't see a headline.

Responding to the question about relevance... Even a regularly scheduled event can be news because, well, something happened.

We can and should turn such a question around by pointing out that this is WikiNews. If there was no headline submitted by Canadians about their holiday celebration a few days ago, they missed an opportunity to contribute a story.

Besides, holidays with fireworks tend to be great chances to post photography. The traditional media does it all the time. And their readers expect it.
