Contact Address of Wikinews as a News Publisher

This message was originally sent as an e-mail on the Wikinews news letter and to the administrators but I was unable to receive any response so I am re-posting it here.

I am currently developing a mobile application that could help increase exposure of Wikinews articles. I am currently trying to release the app under the News Category on the Play Store.

However, to do so, I must include a contact information (An e-mail address, preferably an e-mail address and a phone number) of the News publisher that the application is using. This is part of the Play Store policy and I am guessing this is so that users can consult the publisher regarding fake news, stolen articles and other esquires regarding the articles. I think an e-mail address of a Wikinews administrator would be sufficient to fill this role. I also consulted Wikinews:Spread Wikinews but I could not find any information related to this.

To summarize, please could someone provide me with the contact information that I should be using as a contact information for the Wikinews as a News publisher. If you would like an access to the original e-mail I had sent that contains more detailed information, please provide me an e-mail address to send it to and I will do so.

Thank you. [Posted on behalf of User:News gen by SVTCobra 14:31, 4 January 2023 (UTC)][reply]

@News gen:, Wikinews, as you probably know, is a wiki and there is no single person designated as the "publisher". Wikinews is part of the Wikimedia Foundation and the main number there is: +1-415-839-6885. All content on Wikinews is published under a Attribution 2.5 Generic (CC BY 2.5) license. In brief it means it may be freely republished elsewhere (such as your app) as long as it is attributed and credited to Wikinews. Cheers, --SVTCobra 14:38, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For email addresses, you could try info@wikimedia.org or business@wikimedia.org. SVTCobra 14:42, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the quick response.
Would it be ok to just use their contact address of the Wikinews, or should I be asking for a consent to use the address first from the account holders? News gen (talk) 14:56, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Generally, no permission is required to republish Wikinews content, so I don't see why not. SVTCobra 14:58, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your help. Very helpful! News gen (talk) 15:01, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@News gen: So this would be an app that allows the user to read Wikinews articles on it? Just wondering. Heavy Water (talk) 15:30, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The app's main aim is to make English language learning more efficient. The users will be directed to the full article via a URL, if they want to read the full article.
I can send you the original e-mail if you want more details on the app. I would be interested in a general consent of the community for the articles to be used for this purpose as well it's use as well. News gen (talk) 17:21, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Such an interesting idea for an app.
About the e-mail address - is this not the VRT team linked at Wikinews:Contact us? Gryllida (talk) 23:11, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is the app free and open-source? Where could I please test it out if this is OK? Gryllida (talk) 23:11, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't understand from here and from Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and anything wiki. I don't want to understand, just please solve my problem. I go to any movie and photo database to add a photo for the profile of my actor and composer friend. . They refer here, and when I upload the photo here, someone quickly comes and deletes it. What should I do now? Go to this link and I will add the picture yourself. It's over. What are these silly games, dolls, marionettes, naps, etc. They make other farts... @Achim550father: A wiki is a collection of documents that can be linked together and edited by several persons. The Wikimedia Foundation is a non-profit that is responsible for several wikis that have an educational purpose, including Wikipedia and Wikinews (where you are now). If you have a photo that you think has some educational worth, it can be uploaded to Commons, but only if it has the appropriate license. Photographs are generally copyrighted and usually, the person who takes the photograph is the owner of the copyright. If that person has given appropriate permission, it can be uploaded to Commons. Please let me know if you have more questions. —Justin (koavf)TCM 16:20, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) You should address your concerns on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, where you are indefinitely blocked for socking. --Heavy Water (talk) 16:24, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, it's not important for me to be in socks and pants. I don't care about these things that you say, you want the truth. All I want is to be able to add a picture to my friend's profile on filmology sites and that they refer to Wiki and Here too, we have a story with the managers, I don't know how else to say, I'm not a doll, nor socks, nor pants, I'm just a friend of the actor and composer, and I want to complete his profile. Hello, good time. Well, I had done all these things, so why are they deleting it? You should refer to this page now [2] There is a page related to the filmography of Iranian actor and composer Javad Nazari, when you click to add his picture, it is referred to the wiki, and when we upload it to the wiki so that it is added there, someone will come soon and delete it, saying it is a personal photo, and I don't know about such nonsense reasons. If a personal photo is considered, then why is that site referencing it here? If not, it is not a personal photo, then why are people harassing and deleting the photo??? @Achim550father: Again: this is a different site and we cannot help you. Heavy Water (talk) 20:22, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Heavy Water fyi: the user is the latest sockpuppet of JavadNazari / علی خسروی ۱۵ who has been trying for years [3][4] to spam himself into Wikipedia. I recommend ignoring this until the account is globally locked. Johannnes89 (talk) 20:35, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Johannnes89: OK, thanks. Heavy Water (talk) 20:50, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
