Just as an FYI. You had a double of the first sentence of the article, in the audio. I've clipped it out and uploaded a new version. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 06:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hehe, I've mentioned you at the bottom left. I almost had the ability to be creative but then I saw your page and thought feck it and just copyed and pasted. --James Pain (talk) 15:55, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Lol, it said you awesomified it & then I saw it! Anyways, it's not my original design, so all good. The beauties of copyleft. :,) See you around. Dotty••| 16:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

news brief pages edit

Great work with the audio stuff. I was just wondering if you could add <noinclude></noinclude> To the bottom of each News Brief: date page you make. That way they aren't mis-identified as developing stories in Wikinews:Newsroom. Cheers. Bawolff 21:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

p.s. I made some changes to the date category code, so that the categories recognize news briefs with names of News briefs:<date> (lowercase b and no space after the colon) as well as News Briefs: <date> (upercase B and space after colon). Hopefully that will make the categories work more like they should. Cheers. Bawolff 21:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Nice one, thank you very much. Edit the code in the news briefs as much as you want, what I do each day is just copy and paste it into the next days page, replace the script text and changing the dates. Again thanks --James Pain (talk) 22:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hows it going? edit

Hi James, Just wondering whether you think you're going to be able to keep up with the audio?   Tris

I will, I've just cleared up college and I was planning on restarting any time from tonight and friday. Down side is that I'll be away for a week (next week) so there'll be another gap in audio. --James Pain (talk) 20:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
No problem, just wondering! I would help if I had a microphone-maybe one day!   Tris   20:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Audio News edit

I can help while you are away (I did this before) but I never found out how you can make it so when you post a new audio file the previous file will show in the archive list. How do you do this? Do you do it manually or what? Thanks. 14:20, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Andimahony —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andimahony (talkcontribs)

Recent articles with dual audio templates edit

Hi James Pain. Some articles that you have recently edited for audio have both the Article-audiobrief and Audio box 2 templates. I believe they should have one or the other, not both. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:34, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Here are some examples: Workers at England wind turbine plant stage occupation and Black spot on Jupiter is impact site, says NASA. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:37, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Canadian track and field coach Charlie Francis dies at age 61 edit

Thank you for reviewing the article. Just to let you know that i have edited the article about the athletes trained and the first source (The Guardian) does mention the cause of death being announced by his family.

Regards, Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 14:00, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

That Guardian fact must have slipped by me. Put it up for review again and I'll give it another look through. --James Pain (talk) 14:04, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Copyvios edit

Hey, just wondering what the practice is here with copyright violations. I'm still getting used to a lot of things here- on WP I would have zapped "Internationally recognized educational journals restricted in Russia" on sight. Thanks in advance, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:56, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just add  :) --Diego Grez return fire 19:58, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
What he said ^^^. There are numerous pages on how we handle stuff, if you dig around enough, you'll find what you need to know. --James Pain (talk) 11:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
We do also have the option to zap copyvios straight off. I did it yesterday because the story in question (Air India disaster) was obviously likely to get a ful write-up without any need to keep the copyvio hanging around. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 11:18, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Busy elsewhere? We understand, but this is a notice of privilege expiry!

Note! Your privileges on English Wikinews have been reduced.

Under the Privilege expiry policy (enacted October 13, 2012) the rights held by your user account have been reduced due to inactivity, or lack of privilege use. You can view your user rights log here.
Point 4 of the Privilege expiry policy provides for fast-tracking reacquisition of privileges. We all understand that real-life commitments can severely curtail the level of commitment you can give to Wikinews; the privilege reduction is in no way intended as a reflection on your past work, or to imply you are unwelcome. The aim in curtailing privileges is to address security risks, and concern that a long period of inactivity means you may not be up-to-date with current policy and practices.

Welcome back, James Pain :-) edit

Seeing you back is unbelievably encouraging. Thanks!
