  • To this I would respond that it's not "fanboyish" if it's true. Ubuntu is currently atop the Distrowatch list in hits per day; while this ranking is probably dubious in terms of worldwide popularity most mentions of the distribution I've seen tend to bring up it's popularity. I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who would say Ubuntu is not among the top 5 most popular Linux distributions, particularly for desktop use. While Linux in general isn't "popular" among the general public, among people who know what Linux is, Ubuntu is well-known. - McCart42 15:49, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
