Can this information be confirmed: Iran's current enrichment is only to reactor-grade — around 3.5% of the isotope uranium-235. Uranium-235 occurs in less than 1% of all uranium found in nature, but is the only isotope of uranium which is easily fissionable. In order to create a nuclear bomb, a few kilotons of uranium must be enriched to around 90% of uranium-235. Experts have said that if Iran is going to attempt to make enough uranium-235 for a nuclear bomb, they would need to install thousands of centrifuges and run them continuously for many years... I do not recall seeing any of that in the sources...Unless I missed it. Jason Safoutin 16:38, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- It might not be in those sources, but it is easily verifiable from our uranium enrichment article at Wikipedia. Unfortunately the mainstream news sources generally do not explain the technical aspects, even the very basic ones which are necessary to make sense of the story. --Fastfission 19:05, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
