Authors Kat Cho and Claribel Ortega discuss their latest books

Wednesday, December 30, 2020

On Wednesday, authors Kat Cho and Claribel Ortega got together and discussed their recent literary works, then played a game of Truth or Dare. Claribel is the author of Ghost Squad, a Halloween adventure book in which two kids, named Lucely and Syd, accidentally awaken malicious spirits which then wreak havoc across St. Augustine. This happens not long before Halloween, so Lucely and Syd must “save” Halloween, by joining forces with Syd's witch grandmother, Babette, and her tubby tabby, Chunk, to fight the haunting head-on and undo the curse to save the town and Lucely's firefly spirits before it's too late. This novel was released last spring on April 7, 2020. Amazon’s page about this book describes it as follows: “ With the family dynamics of Coco and action-packed adventure of Ghostbusters, Claribel A. Ortega delivers both a thrillingly spooky and delightfully sweet debut novel.” If you are looking for a splendid, wonderful scary ghost story to read on Halloween, this book is for you! You can buy it on Amazon for $14.51. If you have Kindle, you can save eight dollars and buy it for only $5.99 instead. Kat Cho is the author of Vicious Spirits. This book is a sequel to Wicked Fox. Miyoung, an 18-year-old girl, is actually a kumiho, a nine-tailed fox in Korean mythology. After the events of that book, the story continues with Somin ready to help her friends pick up the pieces of their broken lives and heal. Two of her three friends, namely Jihoon and Miyoung, are grieving the losses of close relatives. Jihoon lost his grandmother, and Miyoung lost her mother. The only one ready to move forward in life is their not-so-favorite dokkaebi, Junu.
